The GLOBE Program - Global Learning and Education to Benefit the Environment
GLOBE is a worldwide, hands-on primary and secondary school-based science and education program.

We are very pleased that GLOBE has developed a new protocol for using Davis weather stations. This new protocol allows students to use a Davis weather station to collect and analyze continuous weather data for their school. This data can then be transferred to the school's computer then submitted to GLOBE via email. Get details here.

Case Studies

The document, Case Studies: Use of Electronic Weather Stations as Multiple-Intelligence Teaching Tools (1.1 MB) features two middle schools that have integrated Davis weather stations into their lesson plans.

Weather Station Exercise

The college-level text, Introducing Physical Geography, by Alan and Arthur Strahler, includes a supplemental CD which elaborates on the textbook material. The chapters on Weather and Climate on the CD feature an interactive weather station exercise using Davis weather stations. NOTE: This is a WinZip compressed executable 3.05 MB file.
