Be sure to wait for a few minutes. Our new hopping radio technology can take a bit longer to first acquire a signal. If you have waited for more than five minutes and the console and transmitter are very close to each other, remove the white plastic cover from the center of the transmitter board and see if there are two jumpers attached to the board. If so, remove them and repower your transmitter board by plugging a power adapter (not connected to AC power) into the jack on the transmitter board for one minute. This will reset the board after you have removed the jumpers. For assistance please call Technical Support at 510-732-7814.

I cannot receive data from my ISS and my ISS transmitter board’s green light does not flash or flashes rapidly.
There is a problem with your ISS transmitter board. Contact Technical Support immediately at 510-732-7814 or e-mail support@davisnet.com.

Is the original Vantage Pro compatible with the Vantage Pro2?
No it is not. The Vantage Pro2 employs new frequency hopping technology and has a signal strength that is roughly 8 times stronger. The Vantage Pro 2 cannot acquire signals from the original Vantage Pro and visa versa.

I'm setting up my Vantage Pro2 system and the console screen just says “Receiving From”. There are no weather readings displayed.
All you need to do is hold the "Done" button down for a few seconds. The current reading screen will come up. Once the stations signal is acquired the readings will be displayed. This may take a few minutes.

The wind cups are spinning on the anemometer but there is no wind speed on my display console.
Make sure the wind cups are pushed all the up on the shaft. Sometimes the wind cups "stick" about half way up and you might think that they are all the way up on the shaft. Give them an extra hard push and make sure. If they are all the way up on the shaft when you tighten the set screw the Allen wrench should be right up against the drip ring.

I'm using WeatherLink with the USB connection. At times I lose communication with the PC software.
This is caused by electrical noise introduced into the USB port on the PC. Solutions are:
    1. Eliminate the source of the noise (paper shredder, fan, etc.).
    2. Do not use an AC adapter on your Vantage Pro console.  Most noise is picked up on the AC adapter cable. Eliminating the adapter can prevent the entry point for the noise. The console's three C batteries can last up to one year and you will receive a message on the console when they start to get low.
    3. Attach a ferrite cylinder on the AC adapter cable to help filter out the noise.  These can be purchased at many electronic supply stores.  Digikey's (www.digikey.com) part number 240-2245-ND works well.

I'm only getting dashed lines for my outside readings. Inside readings are OK.
Check the set up on your Vantage Pro2 display. Push and hold the "Done" button. While you are holding the "Done" button push the "-" button. If your screen says “Receiving From” you are now in the set up mode. Now quickly push and release the "Done" button. You are now in the 2nd set up screen.

It should read "ON (ISS) 1"

If it reads "ON (ISS ) 1 Repeater A," you will not get any outside readings ( unless you in fact do not have a repeater).

Push and release the "Wind" Button several times. Every time you push and release the "Wind" button the Repeater reading will cycle until it disappears. That is what you want.

You want the screen to read "ON (ISS) 1"

When you see the above push and hold the "Done" button for a number of seconds until the screen goes back to the current reading screen.

The Davis Ticker on my website is showing tags instead of the actual reading.
There is a 200 character buffer limit for the Java ticker applet. If the 200 character limit falls within a tag then the software will not recognize it as a tag and just display it as text. To fix this do a <cr> right before the Tag.
